Dublin Hotel
Intro: To Camera
Hello everyone and welcome! I'm Declan and I'm head concierge at Clontarf Castle Hotel. Today I'm going to bring you on a day in the life tour of my hotel, and my Dublin.
Tour of Castle: Voiceover
Clontarf Castle Hotel was built in the 11th century and has recently been refurbished with a dazzling 10 million euro makeover. Historic turrets and tapestries are contrasted with all the comforts of modern living, it really is a great mix of the old and new.
Dublin Tour Bus: To Camera
A tour bus departs for the city centre every morning from the hotel. Let's get this show on the road! (jumps on bus).
Guinness
Guinness Storehouse: Voiceover
Well it wouldn't be Dublin without Guinness, and where better to begin our tour than the famous home of the black stuff! The storehouse gives an insight into how Guinness became one of the world's most popular drinks, and allows guests to try their hand at pulling a pint. (he attempts it) It's trickier than it looks believe me!
Gravity Bar: To camera
After all those exertions, a pint is a well deserved reward. And what a view...(pan across view) Slainte!
Dublin Town:
Trinity College: Voiceover
Ireland's most famous and prestigious university is Trinity College right in the heart of the city. It's one of only seven ancient universities in the English speaking world, and the only one outside of Britain. It's home to the world famous Book of Kells manuscript. It was also once home to such illustrious graduates as Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett and Bram Stoker.
Grafton Street (Voiceover) - shops, flower seller, busker
Grafton Street is definitely Ireland's most glamorous street for shopping. This street really has it all, shops, restaurants, bars, and many street performers. Buskers are a regular feature on Grafton Street - the quality varies a lot but you'll always find something entertaining! (throws coin in busker's hat).
Dublin Restaurants: shots of Shanahans / Thorntons etc.
Dublin is one of the hottest spots on the map when it comes to eating. Celebrity chefs are falling over each other to open the next Michelin starred restaurant. Getting a table is often near impossible, but make sure you talk to me at the hotel and I can sort you out!
Croke Park
Croke Park (to camera and voiceover)
About 5 minutes from town is Croke Park Stadium, or Croker as it's known to Dubliners. This is where our national games are played every weekend; Gaelic Football and Hurling. If you have time to take in a match, you simply must. (whisper to camera and winks) To camera: Remember to shout for Dublin!
Near Hotel
Howth Harbour - just shots, no voiceover.
Royal Dublin Golf Club: Voiceover
For golf lovers, we have one of Dublin's most prestigious golf clubs on our doorstep. The Royal Dublin Golf Club has played host to three Irish Opens over the years and is very welcoming to visiting golf enthusiasts.
Dublin Nightlife:
Temple Bar- (Voiceover)
If you're looking for nightlife, you won't be short of options in Dublin. It's arguably one of the liveliest cities in Europe. Temple bar is the perfect choice for a pub crawl - you'll have dozens of quaint taverns and modern lounges to choose from. And you won't have far to walk between each watering hole!
Dublin at night / Halfpenny Bridge / James Joyce Bridge / Spire etc.
No voiceover - just a shot of this at night.
Abbey Tavern - Voiceover
However, if you'd prefer to stay closer to the hotel, then the Abbey Tavern is a reliable option for good quality traditional Irish entertainment.
Back to Hotel: Dinner
Back to the hotel: Voiceover
After working up quite an appetitie, it's time for dinner at our own Fahrenheit Grill back in the hotel. it has something to cater for all tastes and never disappoints (we see food being garnished and Declan tucks in).
To camera:
I do hope you enjoyed my whistlestop tour of Dublin and my hotel - and I hope to see you here soon! Slan leat! (raises a toast).
