We stayed in Dublin for 3 days and 2 nights and wanted something away from the tourist attractions. We were very happy with Clontarf. The hotel has a neat castle exterior and the grounds are well maintained. The interior of the hotel feels more like a modern business hotel with large rooms that are comfortable and clean.

We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but we did grab drinks at the hotel lounge and it was very nice as well. The staff was helpful and friendly. It is too far to walk across the Liffey to the Temple Bar area, but we took the city bus from the nearby bus station and cabbed it home at the end of our evening downtown.
