Clontarf Castle Hotel has scored an awards hat trick today when it was awarded a Merit Award of Excellence for 2009 from CIE Tours. This win follows their Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award which they received last Friday and the Fáilte Ireland Optimus Award win in early February where the hotel received the top level award European Foundation for Quality Management Award (EFQM) Level 4 which is a special recognition for commitment to continuous improvement and business excellence.
Clontarf Castle Hotel Managing Director, Enda O’Meara stated “We are delighted to receive a merit Award of Excellence for 2009 from CIE Tours. This award is particularly meaningful as the Awards of Excellence are the product of our client’s ratings. The merit award is recognition for hotels that have excelled & achieved a 90%+ level of satisfaction.”
Clontarf Castle Hotel was also the winner of the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award for the second year running. The hotel picked up the award at The Burlington Hotel last Friday. Speaking of the other award wins that the Hotel has picked up in the past month; Mr O’Meara stated “The CIE merit Award of Excellence is chosen by our clients, The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award seeks to identify the best managed companies through an evaluation process that examines all aspects of the business and extends far beyond financial results and the EFQM award recognises our commitment and attention to detail in all aspects of business. These awards mean that the all our hard work seems to be paying off.”
Mr O’Meara continued “As part of TIFCO Hotel Group whose portfolio currently includes 7 hotel’s in Ireland and 1 in Germany, we constantly compare and benchmark all aspects of the business throughout all of the hotel’s so we can continue to improve on quality, customer care, efficiency and financial performance.”
The M.D. attributes winning these awards to the excellent team in Clontarf Castle Hotel. Mr O’Meara continued “We have a fantastic group of people at the Hotel who work closely together and continuously strive for customer satisfaction and improvement in all aspects of the business. This culture has definitely driven greatly enhanced performance to the hotel even in these difficult times”.

Mr O’Meara concluded “We are delighted that we are being awarded by these prestigious awards and we will continue to strive for excellence over the coming year”.
