Clontarf Castle Hotel offers a range of different locations and opportunities around which a bespoke wedding can be designed.
We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions we have received from our wedding couples below.
Do you have more than one wedding a day?
No, your day is very special to us, therefore we apply a strict one Wedding a day policy at the Castle.
Will my wedding executive be there on the day?
From the enquiry stage up to your Wedding day and after, our dedicated Wedding Executive will be take care of every detail for you & ensure you have the most magical day.
What is your maximum capacity?
The maximum capacity for a wedding at Clontarf Castle is 360 guests.
Can you cater for smaller weddings?
We do indeed and we would be delighted to create a bespoke package for you based on your numbers.
Is there a minimum number requirement for the packages on your website?
There would be a minimum number of 40 adults for our pre-defined packages. However, we can create a bespoke package for smaller weddings. There is a minimum number of 120 adults on a Friday or Saturday.
Is the hotel licensed for ceremonies?
Yes, we have a number of function rooms that are licensed for ceremonies.
Does the ceremony take place in the same room as the reception?
Depending on your numbers, the ceremony could take place in the same room which will be turned around for the wedding reception during your drinks reception. Alternatively, you could use a different event space for your ceremony.
Can I hook an iPod or tablet up to your sound system?
Absolutely, we can hook your device to our PA system with a jack cable and we would be very happy to play your own songs during your ceremony or your playlist for the evening.
Where is the drinks reception held?
Depending on your numbers, the drinks reception would be held either in our Knights Bar or the Indigo Lounge.
Can I get ready in the hotel on the morning of my wedding?
Of course, we can reserve a room for you or the wedding suite the night before, in order to get ready on the morning of the wedding at the Castle.
Is there a wedding suite included in the packages?
We include a wedding suite complimentary on the night of the wedding for the couple.
How many bedrooms are in the hotel?
We have 111 bedrooms. There are 3 grades of room available to guests – Deluxe, Executive and Suite Rooms. Rates vary between grades. There are also a number of guesthouses, B&Bs and hotels nearby.
Do you offer reduced rates for guests to stay in the hotel? If so, can we block book rooms and how long can they be held for?
Our reservations team can hold 15 bedrooms at a reduced rate, for the night of the wedding. Wedding bedrooom rates are subject to seasonality and a rate will be advised at the time of booking.
When is the checkout time?
Check out time is normally 12.00 noon.
How many guests can sit at a table?
We have round tables that can accommodate from 8 to 12 guests per table.
Is any stationery provided (menus, table names, place cards, table plan)?
We will print personalised menus and table numbers/names for all the tables, place cards for the top table and we have a beautiful table plan display.
Do you have microphones in the venue for the speeches?
We do have a PA system and microphones in house complimentary.
Can you give us recommendations for wedding suppliers?
We have a preferred suppliers list which we would be very happy to send you.
Is there a menu tasting included? How many can attend?
Approximately 8 weeks before the wedding day you will enjoy a complimentary Menu Tasting in the Castle. Our Wedding Executive will arrange this for you, normally Menu Tastings take place on a Tuesday evening in our Fahrenheit restaurant.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
We will cater for any dietary requirements on the day, and we will also have a silent vegetarian option.
Do you charge a corkage fee?
Our corkage fee is €17.50 per bottle of wine and €25 per bottle of Sparkling wine. This is additional to your wedding package.
What time does the music and bar finish at?
The entertainment and bar closes at 2am.
What kind of deposit payment is required?
This would depend on the event space booked for the wedding. The following deposit is required: Great Hall - €3,000, which is non-refundable Viking Suite - €1,500, which is non-refundable Fahrenheit Restaurant - €1,000, which is non-refundable We can hold a date for a number of weeks before the deposit is required.
Is there an option for dinner the night before or a BBQ the day after?
Absolutely, we would be delighted to book a space for you for a family gathering the night before or a BBQ the day after the wedding. Our BBQ menu starts from €36 per person.
